What happens during a colonic?
A colonic consists of infusing ultra-violet filtered, (98F – 103F) 34 to 39 C temperature water into the colon via the rectum through a small, disposable nozzle that you insert, in private, yourself.
Our “open” colonic system (Angel of Water) has a multi-stage water purification system and a lighted viewing tube that allows you to see the evacuated matter leaving your colon.
This open system is designed so debris is transported into the drain without offensive odour and without compromising the dignity of the individual.
The unit is thoroughly cleansed and disinfected after each session with approved environment-friendly cleaning agents.
During a treatment, you will experience several fills and releases of water, similar to the tide of the ocean (ebbs and flows), the water gently removes fecal debris, gas and mucous.
Prior to your colonic we show you how you can apply a light massage to your tummy to help dislodge toxic waste material adhering to the walls of the colon. The debris that is disloged is gently washed away through the system’s waste disposal drain line.
Each treatment lasts approximately 45 minutes and you should allow at least one hour per visit.
During a typical colonic, between 8 to 16 gallons of water will be transported into and out of the colon. A good colonic can yield about 40 to 50 regular bowel movements worth of material!
Initially, further treatments will produce even more substantial release of old, hardened and impacted feces that becomes dislodged from the colon wall. These pieces can live inside your colon for years, even decades.
True story: A client passed a coin she had ingested when she was a teenager approximately 20 years earlier! You never know what treasures you will uncover during a colonic.
After a couple sessions, you will actually see your progress as less and less discharged waste passes through the viewing tube.

The process itself is extremely gentle, and some people even find it relaxing.

Almost all “generally healthy” adults (and children) can enjoy Colon Hydrotherapy with little or no risk whatsoever. We’re proud to share that our oldest colonic recipient is 77 years “young”, and our youngest is 11!

Who cannot have a colonic?
If after assessing your Medical History Intake we determine you are not an ideal candidate for Colon Hydrotherapy, then we cannot provide you the service.
Aside from that, if you’ve had any of the following conditions within the last 6 months, we advise against a colonic and will not provide it to you until you are clear of all symptoms for at least 30 days;

Colon Hydrotherapy is not currently covered under OHIP however, when when prescribed by a Physician or a Naturopathic doctor it is typically covered under most Employee Extended Health Care Plans.

What can I expect during a test?
The examination is performed by testing various acupoints on both your hands and feet which relate back to the energy channels and their related organs, systems, or functions.
This testing does not involve needles, only a stylus is used to send a very small electrical current (not a shock) through each point, which is recorded and analyzed by the computer system. Be prepared to sit upright for a minimum of 30 minutes during your examination, so wear comfortable clothing and try to relax.
We request that you do not ask questions during the test due to the time consuming nature of the test itself. There will be time to ask questions when you are given the results and recommendations after the exam.
