My First Colon Hydrotherapy Experience
Hi there. My name is Kelly, and here is the story of my “first time” receiving Colon Hydrotherapy.
It’s no secret that everyone goes into their first Colon Hydrotherapy session with a mix of nerves and excitement, and I was no exception.
I did my research, I asked my girlfriends for their advice based on their own experience, and I even looked for a sign. I kept getting the same answer; everyone is different and you won’t know until your first time.
Well, I’m happy to report that my first time was gentle, comforting and borderline life changing. Not to mention, Kelly (the owner of the clinic) made me feel very special and worked hard to calm my nerves.
How my (Colon Hydrotherapy) journey began
Let’s go back about 5 or 6 months ago. I won’t go into too much detail, but a bad case of bronchitis and some serious prescription cough medicine left me with a small dependency on laxatives. Now although I used a natural one, I couldn’t use the bathroom without them. It quickly became part of my routine.
I like to think that I live a fairly healthy and balanced life (don’t we all). I have a balanced diet and regular work out schedule. I work 9-5 like a lot of people and live and die by my day-to-day routine. This laxative use quickly became a part of it and I knew something had to change.
I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts and they did an entire episode on colonics. They were dispelling the myth’s associated with them and some urban legends. Being pretty new and inexperienced in the wellness area, I naturally took to do some of my own research. What I found was overwhelming…
“Poop, poop everywhere!!”
“Cramping…discomfort”
DANGER!!
My head was spinning but I wasn’t convinced. I called around to a couple of clinics in the area, but when Kelly answered the phone, I really felt good about my decision and I booked my first appointment. The rest is history. Needless to say, I’m hooked and feel a lot better.
With this being said, I really wanted to address some of the myths that I came across and help put your mind at ease.
Colon Hydrotherapy myths
1. They are not messy! Digestive and Therapeutic Wellness has the ‘Angel of Water’ bed that makes the whole process easy and clean. There is literally no mess to clean up after your treatment and I can assure you that nothing “explosive” happens at all.
2. No pain or discomfort. I would say that the most uncomfortable part if any, is getting started. Having said that, Kelly is there 100% of the way and helps you through it all. There is no pain or discomfort throughout the procedure, it just feels like a bowel movement.
3. It is completely private, and you are alone throughout the procedure. The Angel of Water Bed makes the process almost completely independent. Intervention is only needed at times and there is always help when you need it. You’re checked on periodically, but you are always covered. There is also a walkie-talkie by your side to call for help if you need it at any point.
4. You won’t have any issues when you leave…I promise! There is no risk of having any sort of accident when you leave. After your procedure, you take a probiotic and that’s it until your next treatment. I didn’t have a bowel movement for over 24 hours after my first time, let alone any unwanted aftermath.
So there you have it, everyone! My first time was awesome and I am happy to say that I have been laxative-free ever since and back to regular movements!
I can’t convince you to go for it, but I can tell you that I did and I certainly don’t regret it!
